WHAT: The Effects of the ACA on Medicare Secondary Payer, Workers Compensation, and Liability Systems

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed to make health insurance available to those that were uninsured, and further, to make such coverage affordable, especially for those with a limited income. This presentation will provide attendees with a working understanding of the Affordable Care Act. It will outline the intended and unintended effects of ACA on Medicare Secondary Payer compliance. It will also discuss how the ACA is affecting legal tactics when settling workers’ compensation and liability claims, such as auto, nursing home, medical malpractice, and products liability cases.
